Before you sign: a calm checklist

Signing day often arrives with cake in the break room and a stack of forms. Slow the moment with a short list. None of these items require a law degree — only attention.

  1. Names and occupation match reality. Spelling errors and wrong Beruf titles cause chamber friction later.
  2. Start date and duration align with school blocks. Confirm Berufsschule timing verbally and in writing.
  3. Remuneration years are complete. Missing year-three figures are a common oversight in rushed drafts.
  4. Probezeit length is explicit. Vague “as agreed” language is not enough.
  5. You have seen referenced annexes. Training plans and handbooks mentioned in the contract should be readable before signature.
  6. Guardian signatures are arranged if required. Minors need the right co-signers present or scheduled.
  7. You know who files with the chamber. Assign the owner so the signed copy does not sit in a drawer.

If two or more items fail the check, delay the pen. Our agreement guide and consultation intake exist for exactly that pause.
